Item Rank & Gear Score
The Item Rank System adds a new progression layer to equipment on MuEleon. Items can receive special ranked options that determine their overall rarity, while the Gear Score System evaluates the complete quality of the item using its base stats, upgrades and advanced properties.
How Item Rank Works
Ranked Item Options
Eligible equipment can contain special Item Rank options. Each active option has its own value and contributes to the final rarity of the item.
Final Item Rank
The system evaluates the active ranked options and their values to determine the final rank displayed on the item. A stronger individual option can also influence the final rarity.

Gear Score
One Score for the Overall Quality of an Item
Gear Score combines multiple equipment properties into one value. It allows players to quickly compare the overall strength and progression level of different pieces of equipment.
What Increases Gear Score?
Advanced Gear Score Bonuses
Excellent Options
Excellent equipment receives an additional Gear Score bonus. More Excellent Options further increase the item's final score.
Socket Options
Socket equipment also contributes additional Gear Score. Items with more active sockets receive stronger score scaling.
Harmony
Harmony upgrades are included in the Gear Score calculation, with additional scaling based on the Harmony level.
Mastery Bonuses
Epic Mastery
125% MultiplierEquipment reaching at least Epic Rank can activate the first Mastery Bonus level when the required ranked option conditions are satisfied.
Legendary Mastery
150% MultiplierEquipment reaching at least Legendary Rank can unlock the stronger Mastery Bonus tier when its requirements are met.
Rank and Gear Score Are Different
Item Rank
Item Rank represents the rarity and quality of the special ranked options generated on the equipment. It determines whether the item is Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary or Mythic.
Gear Score
Gear Score represents the overall power of the complete item. It considers both the ranked options and the rest of the item's upgrade properties.
Building Better Equipment
Look for Higher Item Ranks
Higher-ranked equipment contains stronger ranked properties and provides a path toward Epic, Legendary and Mythic gear.
Do Not Ignore Gear Score
A higher rarity does not automatically mean every item is stronger. Compare Gear Score and the actual properties of the equipment before replacing your current item.
Improve Existing Equipment
Item Level, Excellent properties, Sockets, Harmony and other upgrades can all contribute to the overall Gear Score of an item.
Reach Mastery Ranks
Epic and Legendary equipment can unlock additional Mastery progression, giving high-quality equipment even more long-term value.
Find Better Ranks. Build Higher Gear Score. Unlock Mastery.
Item Rank shows the rarity of your special equipment properties, while Gear Score measures the overall strength of the item. Combine strong Rank Options with Excellent, Socket, Harmony and advanced equipment upgrades to build the most powerful gear possible.
